ab: In this study, the effect of a two-day training programme consisting of modules on empathy, communication, drama, and time management was examined to reduce the high risk of burnout among professionals working with people with disabilities. A pretest-posttest single-group quasi-experimental design was used in the study, and 24 professionals working with people with disabilities (mean age: 38.7±8.1, 91.7% female) participated. Pre- and post-test data were collected using the Life Satisfaction (SWLS), Psychological Well-being (PWB), and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) scales. The Wilcoxon test showed no statistically significant change in SWLS, PWB, and MBS total/subscale scores after the training (p > .05). However, the post-test revealed a strong positive correlation between PWB and SWLS (r = .622, p < .01) and a negative correlation between PWB and MBS (r = -.442, p < .05). Additionally, income level, educational status, and previous burnout experience significantly influenced MBS scores. The findings suggest that the direct effect of short-term intervention is limited; however, changes in psychological well-being are associated with other variables, highlighting the importance of individual factors. Longer-term and personalised interventions are recommended for professionals working with disadvantaged groups.
