Microsoft Word, an application software form Microsoft Corp., provides a feature called the autocorrect option. It can be used to create a predictive text that is particularly useful for relieving the chore of transcription. It allows the users to create a personal shorthand for any words or phrases. Autocorrect helps in reducing keystrokes by two-thirds or more. It is available on the standard Microsoft Word Tools menu. It works for other Microsoft Office programs also. Desktop search engines can be used like Internet search engines. They can also be used for a preliminary analysis of qualitative data. There are three main search engines: Google, Copemic or Yahoo. The speed of search depends on the selection of the search terms. It is also important to remember that search engines are not categorized by topic, so rather than searching with a phrase, one should search for words that are likely to occur on the target pages. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: English refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: N holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
