Sumario:The joint use of artificial intelligence with science education is a new topic of great interest in the circles of educational technology and has been investigated. Today, the existing studies are not synthesized sufficiently and the multidimensional studies and deep analysis are not present in the present studies. The results suggest that the implementations of artificial intelligence in science education can be grouped in four major categories: 1) the adaptive learning systems, 2) the virtual experimentation environments, 3) the customised educational interfaces, 4) the natural language processing assisted learning mechanism. Although these technological solutions potentially have beneficial results for the learning of the students, the possibility of such solutions to help to develop higher order cognitive skills and the applications of the acquired knowledge is still not fully explored. The analysis also points to possibilities of deepening the way of elaboration of the conceptual framework, the way of refinement of research methodology, and the scope of practical implementation. Besides, there are some important aspects on which further investigations should focus.
