Sumario:	The article analyses the causes of the emergence and of the disappearance or persistence of three clichés: „Banatu-i fruncea" (The Banat is the forefront), „Localismul creator" (Creative localism) and „Banatul multicultural" (The multicultural Banat). On this occasion, several concepts (cliché and stereotype) are defined more precisely, together with their relation to the reality that their image evokes.
