This study aims for a necessary literary recovery of two fundamental autobiographical novels: The Labyrinth (Labirintul, 1990) and The Outsider (Venetica, 1998). The biographical element becomes the central argument in articulating a narrative plot conceived as an authentic X-ray of Romanian society on both banks of the Prut River.
