| Sumario: | This study explores the nature of research on the information behaviours of informal caregivers of geriatric patients, examining trends, challenges, and opportunities in the digital age. It seeks to identify key themes, influential sources, and research gaps to inform policy and practice. A bibliometric approach was employed to analyze scholarly publications indexed in Scopus, providing a quantitative assessment of research output and thematic evolution in this domain. The study utilized Scopus-indexed literature related to information behaviours of informal caregivers of geriatric patients, focusing on publications spanning multiple years. Findings reveal an increasing reliance on digital health tools, such as telemedicine and mobile health applications, among informal caregivers. However, significant barriers were identified, including digital literacy gaps, accessibility challenges, and information overload. These issues hinder the effective use of digital health resources. The study underscores the need for caregiver-centered digital solutions, enhanced policy support, and interdisciplinary research to improve caregiving outcomes. Addressing these challenges can foster a more informed and empowered caregiving community. The research highlights the importance of targeted digital literacy programs, regulatory frameworks for online health information, and financial incentives to support caregivers. Implementing these recommendations can lead to improved health outcomes for geriatric patients.
