| Sumario: | The article reports on a study investigating the effect of uncorrected refractive errors on motor proficiency performance in school-aged children. The research involved 123 students aged 7-8 years, divided into groups with myopia, astigmatism, and normal vision, and assessed using the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency (BOT-2 SF). While no significant differences were found in overall motor proficiency, uncorrected astigmatism was associated with lower scores in fine motor precision and manual dexterity tasks. The findings suggest that while refractive errors do not broadly impact motor performance, specific difficulties may arise in fine visual-motor tasks for children with uncorrected astigmatism. |
