The special education in Austria is supported by the Elementary Schools Law, which was enacted on May 14, 1869. This law provides special services for children with physical disabilities such as deafness and blindness. From preschool age, children in the country are also given professional aid from school psychologists. This is to ensure that both parents and teachers can get psychological diagnosis from education experts and can have advice in the case of any child with learning difficulties or behavioral problems. A summary of the numbers of physically handicapped children who attend kindergarten and special schools is presented in this article. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: English refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: Y dt: @attributes: year: 1959 holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
