Alessandro Gallenzi, who founded Alma in October 2005 with his wife Elisabetta Minervini said that the new imprint would cover classics ranging in origin from 14th-century Italy to 20th-century Russia. Alma and Oneworld are part of a consortium of independent publishers that also includes Carcanet and Pushkin Press.
