| Summary: | The article focuses on the coordination states of titanium in titanium silicalite-1. Titanium silicalite-1 is used as an important industrial catalyst for oxidizing organic compounds. Titanium ions are incorporated within the molecular structure of silicalite-1 by the introduction of one formal negative charge per titanium atom. This is in accordance with the formation of titanium sites with five covalent bonds to oxygen. According to several chemical research studies, there are six coordination states of titanium in titanium silicalite-1. But these studies might have been influenced by impurities. Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy is used in the identification of titanium coordination states in titanium dioxide. |
