Sumario:	This study focuses on women newspaper and periodical publishers in Illinois during the years of 1869–1900. The project poses three research questions: (1) What percentage of Illinois newspapers and periodicals published between 1869–1900 were published or edited by women? (2) Of the newspapers and periodicals published or edited by women during this period, in which areas of the state were they published-Chicago or down-state? (3) Of the publications identified as having been published or edited by women, what percentage were newspapers as opposed to periodicals?
