Sumario:The article focuses on fraud in mining using the fraudulent additive salt. The strategy of William Lovell, champion fraud of Leadville, Colorado, to profit from mining by deceiving people is narrated. Other swindlers paint the face of the ore bed with a solution of gold chloride or silver nitrate. Engineers try to detect fraud in mining through mine sampling. Experienced engineers stated that salting cannot be absolutely prevented.
