| Sumario: | This article presents labor statistics collected and calculated by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on labor force, employment, unemployment, labor compensation and international prices, productivity, injury and illness statistics. The article also presents information on labor market indicators, which include employment measures from two major surveys and information on rates of change in compensation provided by the Employment Cost Index program. The labor force participation rate, the employment-population ratio, and unemployment rates for major demographic groups based on the Current Population Survey are presented, while measures of employment and average weekly hours by major industry sector are given using non farm payroll data. Employment data are obtained from the Current Population Survey, a program of personal interviews conducted monthly by the Bureau of the Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The sample consists of about 60,000 households selected to represent the U.S. population 16 years of age and older.
