| Sumario: | The article cites studies on the criterion validity of the Adaptive Behavior Scale (ABS) in order to discriminate among members of three unique placement groups including formerly institutionalized retarded persons, institutional residents who were referred for discharge, current institutional residents. The study employed a stratified random-sampling process to develop two equal-size samples. The individuals' ABS domain scores in the derivation sample were delivered to stepwise multiple discriminant function analysis. It shows that knowledge of an individual's ABS scores would enable a test user to make valid estimates of group membership. |
