Summary:The article reports on the African Education Program(AEP) administered by the Education Development Center aiming to provide curriculum materials in mathematics and science for schools in sub-Saharan English-speaking Africa. The AEP started in the summer of 1961 when African, American, and British educators and scholars met to consider the educational needs and resources of the Africans. This gave way to the establishment of the African Mathematics Program(AMP) and the African Primary Science Program(APSP).
