Sumario:	In this article the authors report on the broad outlines of how the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is working to use the Internet as a data collection medium. The BLS is in the process of incorporating Internet-based data collection into a number of its establishment surveys. Internet collection is typically offered to employers as one of several options for reporting their data. The bureau benefits from Internet collection as well, with the potential to: control certain costs; improve response rates; decrease burden, or the perception of burden; and improve data quality.
