| Sumario: | This article reports on a new primitive called externally verifiable code execution. This primitive allows an external entity (the verifier) with the assurance that any piece of code, referred to as the target executable, executes untampered by any malware that may exist on an external computing device. The article examines both software- and hardware-based techniques for externally verifiable code execution. Both techniques require a root of trust. The root of trust is a computing base that can be trusted with the responsibility of enforcing externally verifiable code execution. |
