| Sumario: | This article reports on how to achieve cryptographic long-term security. The author explains why information system infrastructures are already vulnerable, why this vulnerability will increase with time, and what computer users can do. The article discusses the RSA digital signature algorithm, which was first proposed in 1978, and why it remains the most important digital signature algorithm. Its security derives from the intractability of factoring composite integers which are generated as the result of two large prime numbers. |
