Summary:The article focuses on LastMile Communication's W-Direct technology. The W-Direct technology is a cost-efficient, decentralized and fast wireless technology that could be used for on-campus, roadside and other access. It also consists of a system of multiple self-contained nodes wherein it have its own communications capabilities. Moreover, it contains data information about the local services, tourist attractions and others that could be relevant for the users. The nodes offer a cache memory of 2 to 8 gigabytes wherein it could be located anywhere such as within lampposts.
