| Sumario: | The article presents several U.S. stories about the radiation from video display terminals (VDT). Although the press has started acknowledging the VDT radiation story, the context remains uncovered. One of the stories is the introduction of PS/2 personal computer from IBM that are covered to reduce very low frequency magnetic fields, which is associated with miscarriages and birth defects. In response to the findings of a Kaiser Permanente study that pregnant women who used VDT during the first trimester of pregnancy could have miscarriage, the National Institutes of Health funded a study to test the hypothesis in modern offices.
