The transformation on the Internet into a nationwide research and education network could be attributed to the High Performance Computing Act introduced by former U.S. Senator Al Gore. The U.S. Congress would also be voting on legislation that would enhance access to government information. John Burgess, a computer writer for "The Washington Post," however, mentioned a drawback with regard to the use of the Internet, stating that it was not user-friendly. |
