The results of a study involving 11 experienced software developers and 19 professors and lecturers is discussed. The participants evaluated the importance of subjects and skills related to software development. The article discusses and tries to update a similar study by Lethbridge in 1998. The five programming paradigms are discussed and placed in order of importance. The article concludes that web-related subjects and skills are evaluated as being more important now than during the time of the previous study.
