Summary:This article reports on a business deal involving Perseus Books and Publishers Group West (PGW). British publishers have cautiously welcomed news of the Perseus Books Group rescue offer to clients of PGW. PGW is the distribution subsidiary of U.S. wholesaler Advanced Marketing Services, who filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December 2006. Perseus will pay PGW's clients 70% of what they are owed by PGW in exchange for taking over distribution.
