Sumario:	This article presents a translation of the description of a warrior in a fight against the Lydians in a story by Mimnermus. This new translation attempts to make sense of the text without speculating about anything that preceded it. The translator also that Homeric intertext is more prevalent than other scholars have acknowledged and that it relates to the translator's conjecture about the warrior's great bravery and spirit.
