The Seymour Cray Award is named after Seymour Cray, considered to be the father of supercomputing. Cray was well known for coming up with unconventional solutions to problems. Like Cray, the Seymour Cray Award recognizes innovation and creativity in computing. The Sidney Fernbach Award is named after the early high-performance computing developer and recognizes individuals who have made notable developments in high-performance computing applications. Award winners are presented with a crystal memento, an illuminated certificate, and a $10,000 honorarium.
