Sumario:The article discusses a study which examined the accuracy of dial reading and the conditions of which it is a function. According to the authors, the facts of the relationship between accuracy and its determinants have significant implications for industrial and military situations. They also analyze previous studies on the effect of pointer design and pointer alignment position on speed and accuracy of instrument readings. Male and female university students were used in the study as subjects. The authors found that differences in dial shape were not an important source of error.
