      ab: This article discusses the results of a study conducted by Google Inc. that examined the extent to which malware is present on the Internet. The article examines the process that Google used to identify pages that may be infected with some aspect of malware, noting that nearly 450,000 sites were found to be infectious to users who simply visited the site. Niels Provos, a senior staff engineer at Google, noted that a computer that contracts a malware infection is able to have its keystrokes recorded and the user can have valuable personal information stolen. The article also mentions that malware can be used to turn computers into zombie computers that hackers remotely control to attack other computers.
