| Sumario: | The article analyzes the differences and similarities on the teachings of St. Thomas Aquinas and the fourteenth Dalai Lama about mercy and compassion. It examines Aquinas' discussion on charity in his "Summa Theologica" and the Dalai Lama's writings about compassion and established that both are discussing the same virtue. Moreover, the article begins its examination by comparing the definitions of both scholars on the virtue of compassion based on the perspective of their own religions. |
