Sumario:The article discusses the prevalence of asymptomatic bacteriuria (AB) in pregnant women during their 12th to 16th week of pregnancy in a prenatal clinic in Bucaramanga, Colombia. The resulting consequences of this condition include the development of pyelonephritis and/or premature delivery and low birth weight. A transverse study was undertaken using social and demographic information, GYN features, and urine culture results. The results showed that AB prevalence was at 7.8% and that it was most common among those who completed the least amount of schooling.
