These changes not only refer to technological advancements but also to the changes that have taken place in the methods of communication, production, and exchange of information by users. Traditional television has now opened itself up to utilizing dialogue, participation, interactivity, and also has incorporated audience participation in programming. While audience videos have been a part of programming for quite a few years, viewers are now often encouraged to interact with networks by sending in messages and videos from their home telephones, mobiles and through SMS messaging.
