      ab: The article discusses the use of unstructured data applications in business. Unstructured text acquisition and analysis (UTAA) applications were once cost-prohibitive and difficult to use. Legislation regarding organization communications such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 have stressed the security of private information, requiring the use of UTAA for storage of information. UTAA applications uses a functional architecture emphasizing enterprise document management (EDM), application analytic processing (APP), and a support system for text analysis. Latent semantic analysis (LSA) discovers concepts by processing document words into matrices.
