Sumario:	The article discusses an extension of International Business Machine's (IBM's) Project Big Green. IBM will collect data from 1,000 of its System z9 mainframe computers actually in use to determine and publicize typical energy consumption for the machines. IBM will also inaugurate a program that permits mainframe users to monitor their system's energy use in real time. IBM is among the early adopters of a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommendation that server vendors make available data on energy use.
