Sumario:The article examines Folding@home, a volunteer computing project on protein folding run by Stanford University. Folding@home's software allows volunteers on the computer graphics chips found in most modern personal computers rather than its core operating unit, allowing for faster data processiing. Computer graphics chips are well suited to simulating protein folding due to their use of what is known as parallel processing.
