Summary:The article discusses Princeton University's Laptop Orchestra. The Orchestra performs music via their Apple MacBook computers with software based on the Max/MSP graphical programming environment, the SuperCollider programming environment and language for real-time audio synthesis and algorithmic composition, and the ChucK audio programming language. Assistant professor of music Dan Trueman is one of the group's founders, conductors, composers, and helped design the Bowed Sensor-Speaker Array the musicians use. The orchestra will play together at the New York City concert hall with the American Composers Orchestra.
