Sumario:The article discusses integrated digital cellular automata computer architectures. These are made up of identical cells that the same connection structure to neighbors but are differentiated by their state, their states actually being certain functions of the states of neighboring cells. Some concerns for the use of cellular automata in mainstream computing include the minimal required internal complexity cells for the support of general computation and how many cells are needed for automata architectures to be as computationally efficient as von Neumann in general computation.
