Sumario:This article examines the importance of software certification for the computer systems of governments, industries, and consumers. Computer software certification and standardization administrations should focus their efforts on the product in order to make certain the software is reliable. Product evaluations should be based on the attributes of the product. The article also mentions the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) approach to the validity of medical software, objectivity in measuring the attributes of a product, and the need for intermediate products as a reason for the final certification of a product.
