| Sumario: | The article offers information on the relevance of pig in accordance with taxonomic status and human-mediated dispersal in Southeast Asia Island and Pacific Region. According to the authors, domesticated animals and plants play a significant component in the chrono-cultural and paleoenvironmental data regarding the history of early farming. Moreover, the author added that pigs and people have established a close relationship wherein it serves as a symbol of a good economic status in tribal societies and associated with the models of human colonization in Oceania. In addition, the author stressed that the advancement of zooarchaeology allows people to have a full understanding on evolution and anthropogenic complexities of animals towards the human societies.
