Sumario:	The article presents an analysis of the Old Testament passage of Amos 3:13 and its challenge of the monotheistic nature of ancient Judaism. The passage's depiction of God calling a council of witness to His decrees is analyzed in its Hebrew language and is compared to other ancient Near Eastern religious practices. Questions are raised regarding the presence of multiple gods within the cosmology of the Old Testament.
