Sumario:The article discusses the importance of inspections, reviews and walkthroughs as integral parts of most industrial software development life-cycle models and standards. The companies that report up to 95 percent defect detection rates before testing include Allianz, Motorola and International Business Machines (IBM). Among the various software engineering research results that facilitated motivation and optimization are advances in process research, formal methods research, and in-project measurement.
