Sumario:The article discusses the importance of data services in designing, building and maintaining service-oriented architecture (SOA) applications. The reasons for the popularity of SOA applications include the ability to repurpose software assets and the creation of new applications and services by composing and recomposing existing services. The article also offers information on several SOA standards, such as the Service Component Architecture (SCA), which is being developed by the Open SOA Collaboration.
