Sumario:The article describes a system that employs wavelets to support exact, approximate, and progressive online analytical processing (OLAP) queries on large multidimensional datasets, while keeping update costs relatively low. OLAP tools support a range of complex analytical queries, unlike traditional databases. Meanwhile, progressive data analysis system (ProDA) supports a wide range of analytical queries while also being able to handle massive datasets. The authors used ProDA to analyze real-world data applications.
