Sumario:The article presents a novel concept that considers holes as regions of spacetime that are located at certain discontinuities in the surfaces of material objects. It offers a comparison of views with theories of holes discussed in the writings of D. K. Lewis and S. R. Lewis, and that of R. Casati and A. C. Varzi. Moreover, it argues that Casati and Varzi's view, which implies that holes are a sui generis type of entity, might be undesirable for some philosophers. Lastly, it concludes that the proponent of the spatiotemporal theory can make a strong case for the claim that holes are less mysterious on his view than on competing views.
