Sumario:The article presents an exploration into computer processing architectures being developed in the early 21st century. The emergence of multi-core processing technology and complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) platforms are particularly outlined and the order-of-magnitude improvement possibilities are addressed. Questions are raised regarding the broader algorithmic structures being utilized to support such platforms. The morphic computational architecture model, hybrid computing, cellular nonlinear networking, and other systems are presented as possible solutions to this question and analyzed for their effectiveness.
