| Sumario: | The article discusses labor productivity trends from 2000 through 2005 in the non-farm business sector. The aim is to understand shifts in industrial efficiency and competitiveness in the component industries and sectors underlying the aggregate productivity statistics. The data used in this analysis are taken from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) industry productivity program. The information sector had the fastest productivity growth among the sectors studied from 1995 to 2000 as well as from 2000 to 2005.
