Sumario:Chapter 1 of the book "Alienation in Giuseppe Berto's Novels" is presented. It discusses the meaning of alienation which is usually associated with psycho-social disorders. Psychologically, it is a deep loss of meaningful relationship with God and with other human beings which originally provides essence to one's self.
