Sumario:Chapter II of the book "Alienation in Giuseppe Berto's Novels" is presented. It presents Berto's experiences and his early literary endeavor where he directly links with alienation from God. It discusses the notion of male universale that alienates one from society, family and from God by destroying his faith. It discusses the results of such alienation from a supreme being including spiritual misery, psychological turmoil, bitterness and hopelessness. It relates that separation from God could lead to lost sense of responsibility, dignity and authority.
