| Sumario: | Chapter 7 of the book "Classical Myth & The "Polifemo" of Góngora" is presented. It explores the history of the Polyphemus-Galatea tradition in Classical and European literature in which Góngora's "Polifemo" belongs. The poem was able to present the relationship of the alternate plot of the narrative to Góngora's life during the period that he lived. It is indicated that Góngora created a much detailed poem than his contemporary Ovid. Preference given by Góngora to tenebrism is mentioned. |
