Summary:A chapter of the book "Studies in Honor of Denah Lida" that focuses on Francisco de Quevedo y Villegas' poem "Canta sola a lisi" is presented. It explores the presence of intimacy and allegory in a Quevedo Sonnet. It is stated that in studies of Baroque verses in Spanish, love poems are unreliable reflections of intimacy but this can be seen in works of the poet Luis de Góngora y Argote due to his ingenuity. Use of poetic fragments from the classical to Petrarchan instead of using human forms in Quevedo's poem is mentioned.
