It looks at how the Thirty Towns come into being, the Jesuit State in the empty wilderness of Paraguay where a hundred fifty thousand Guaraníes lived peacefully the Christian life. Accordingly, the first of the missions started in 1610. It states that the conquistadores subdued the tribes nearest to their settlements and put the Indians to work in the fields. Around 20 missionaries sent to Lima were the very first to set foot in the Indies. |
