Sumario:This section focuses on the fairy tales of Charles Perrault, the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen and Walt Disney. Fairy tale indicates the advent of a new literary form which appropriates elements of folklore to address and criticize the aspirations of bourgeois audience. Perrault's versions of "Cinderella," "Sleeping Beauty" and Blue Beard" dominate the market because of their simplified style and moralizing endings. Jakob and Wilhelm Grimms claim that their tales were exact transcriptions of oral tales told by peasants.
